Natasha Griggs
Country Liberals Candidate for Solomon
Natasha Griggs is a lifetime Territorian. She attended primary and high school in Alice Springs before moving up the track to Darwin to attend the old Northern Territory University where she gained a Bachelor of Business degree.
Natasha is the Deputy Mayor of Palmerston and combines this important community role with a full time executive position with the NT Department of Business and Employment. She has previously held a number of managerial positions in the private sector.
"My background in business has given me an insight into the needs of business across the Territory. Business is the engine room of job creation and vital to the future prosperity of Darwin, the Northern Suburbs and Palmerston and the Territory," Natasha says.
"The housing affordability crisis and rising cost of living is having a real impact on business to recruit and retain staff. Current governments have no answer to the problem and the local Federal Member has been invisible on the issue. I promise that will change if I am elected.
"I also recognise that education is important to unlocking the full potential of our children. I am particularly focused on policies that support early childhood learning in the Top End. The Federal Government does have a role in supporting schools, teachers and parents in ensuring our kids can read, write and gain valuable life and work skills.
"These are just some of the issues that I will focus on in the coming weeks and months. Come election day you will know what I stand for and that I can effectively represent the interests of the people of Solomon and the Territory."
Natasha is keen to meet and talk with as many people as possible and is already actively out in the electorate. If you would like to talk to Natasha please give her a call on 0412 029 549.
The Electorate of Solomon covers the cities of Darwin and Palmerston, including the Northern Suburbs and urban fringes.
